Much simpler years ago my wife and myself, drove from Germany to the Grand Prix Monaco while previously buying bleacher seats without even knowing where they were for $15.00 a piece. The bleacher seats was open seating across from where the race officially started and we sat up about 4 rows off of the street. Best of all Princess Grace stepped out of a building straight across from us and started the race. 1970.

So if you're traveling from the US, I just priced a round trip ticket for $1250 from LAX to Nice. So all in that would be $2174 U.S.. Add another $1000 for grandstand tix. I guess it's not bad in the scheme of things, but still a lot.

I bought a ticket at my first Monaco race in 1973, but I didn’t use it because I was invited to watch the race from an apartment on the front straight.
I attended the race between 1986 and 1992 and I never had to buy a ticket again ‘cause I was working in the sport.
I cannot imagine paying for a ticket to a race . . .
