It's been a little over 3 months since I broke my olecranon riding my bike, unfortunately I landed entirely on the elbow, been trying to get back into the bike but I can't for the love of it, extend my arm completely due to pain (and probably the surgical plate holding the thing together), nor can I withstand more than 4 or 5 minutes on light laps around the block… im still going to rehabilitation but progress is excruciatingly painful 🙁 thinking on just selling the thing… has anyone by the unlucky chance experienced anything similar? How long did it took you to get back into cycling??

The bike is 🔥. Sounds like nasty injury but you will get better before you know it.

You’re going to be six to eight months out from the break before you can ride properly again. And even then, get an athletic brace for your elbow. Don’t go on any complicated routes until you can turn properly. You will feel every crack in the asphalt the first month back on the bike and the bigger bumps for about a year more.

Source: Clean break in my left elbow three years ago. Still have metal implants and a gnarly scar. Still get stiff and sore at times. Ride about ten miles a day.

Im currently recovering from a crash. Thank god no broken bones this time. 😅 but i learned from my previous winter crash. I bought a bike trainer put my bike in there and just biked indoor. You really dont have to touch the handlebar. Put on a show and go slow. I was just on it for 2hrs watching a movie didnt even notice the time

Push through the pain and get as much motion as quickly as you can. Joint injuries start growing bone and can fuse the joint. I got my arm straight but lost pronation/supination.
