Nice, does it stop you needing to wear gloves? I would have wrapped them from the outside in to prevent the edges rolling up.

I’ve been using bartape instead of grips for years. Nicer to the touch and you can cover any length of bar needed.

Much easier to put on and take off too. I don’t have compressed air at home and got bloody tired of wrestling with grips to get them off, even when greased during install.

And grips for some unknown reason are fairly expensive, even the crappy ones.

So, bartape for the win 🥇

  3. Here I am avoiding drop bars because I hate the non-practicality of bar tape, and you’re doing the opposite 😅

Love how it turned out though, very nice.

I installed Newbaum tape on my handlebars earlier this year and was a bit disappointed on how quickly it lost it’s colour when exposed to sun and dust a lot. Mine were dark red so I could imagine that those will be rather grey in half a year too. I still love the feeling and grip of them and cleaning the grips from time to time will surely help to prevent that a bit.

  5. I’ve wondered how well softball/baseball bat tape would work for handlebars.

I’m lazy and cheap so I just slip pieces of old inner tube over the sticky grips
