I’m Owen Pedz and this is my journey to Ironman Swansea 70.3 2025.

Follow the highs and lows of training for my first ever Ironman 70.3 with zero experience in swimming, cycling and running.

It was an absolutely unbelievable experience and I’m so happy to finally show you all how the last 6 weeks before race day went for me.

I want to say a huge thanks to Dan Rees for making all of this documentary happen, without him, this would just be a distant memory but now is immortalised on video and I am forever thankful! I would also like to thank Andrew Curtis, Calum Welch, Sam Taylor and Tom Goodgame for helping with shooting, directing and music for this documentary and wouldn’t be the same without you lads!

Also would like to thank Evan Davies and John Lewis for coaching and assisting me through a weird and wonderful time in my life and can’t thank you guys anymore! It was a pleasure and hope there is 1 or 2 more in the future!

Road to Ironman Wales 2027.
See you there.
Pedz.

  1. Brilliant mate, inspirational. I've done a single 70.3 and I went through the exact same emotions. Your mates are all amazing helping you along the journey.

  2. Having done my first 70.3 earlier this year, I can totally relate to the emotions you went through! You put your mind and body through hell and achieved something very few people will ever do. Well done mate! Amazing work!

  3. Well done Owen!! You set your goal and smashed it! Your support crew and family/friends were incredible and believed in you, I found the scariest part was waiting away to start

  4. It takes a village to finish the race!

Crying watching this video. Same thing went throuh my head when I was the last finisher at IM 70.3 Lapu-Lapu last year.

    Congratulations Owen! You’re a legend.

  5. Lucky for you, crying my eyes out was on my schedule for today.

But in all seriousnes, you absolutely smashed it! And it is so fantastic to see people that aren´t the typical "triathlon-body" challenge themselves and doing something as awsome as you did. It is also absolutely mind-blowing to see how supportive the triathlon community is, cheering anyone on, no matter if they are the first finisher, somewhere in the middle or the last finisher.

Next challange is a full IM? 🙂

  6. Massive good luck to you Owen from Ireland. A real human being out to do their best and not the usual machines YouTube throws up. Looking forward to following your progress…

  7. What a journey, well done Owen, I was there as well completing my first 70.3, loads of jelly fish and the outrageous heat, I thought I was going to pass out on the run, buckets of water saved me at the aid stations. Amazing watching all your friends running with you, what a finish, any plans to do another one ?

  8. What an amazing blog and journey mate. Huge huge huge huge motivation. Every frame resonates with me. Thanks YouTube for popping this video up on my timeline… 🙂 🙂 Keep them coming mate.

  9. Don’t worry about what other people think. This is your journey, your life and your goals.

Being an athlete means dealing with highs and lows. What matters is showing up and continuing to move forward.

I’ve been passed on my bike by elderly ladies with shopping baskets. So what? 😂🤷🏻

You’re inspiring more people than you probably realize. Wishing you health, happiness and success on your journey. Keep going, Pedz 💪🏽
