  1. If I were Derek Gee, I'd be pissed at Ciccone for taking off and leaving him out to dry. Rule #1, stay with your team leader and help him gain as much time as possible.
It absolutely would have made a difference, Derek had his nose in the wind because of it.

  2. My mom supported me in my dangerous sport, I did the same for my kids… but it really is scary and hard watching your beloved kids taking risks.
    Thanks to all brave moms.

  3. Sepp’s record is impressive on it’s own. When you add in the number of stage wins he has enabled and the number of podium positions he has enabled, his record is stunning. I think he is the best domestique in history.

  4. Sepp's interview had me on the edge of tears. His emotion coming through when talking about the distance from family and friends, and the fact that he was able to win the stage with his mom at the finish. Wow. What an amazing moment! Sepp is such a great human being and one of my favorite riders in the Pro Peloton.

  5. The superficiality of this analysis of Ciccone's ride is really poor. Are we meant to want to stump up the kind of money TNT expect for their coverage based on this? Cycling is about working as a team and managing energy and effort to get the best results. Not about throwing your toys out of the pram and naffing off up the road in a huff, abandoning your GC rider to his own devices and burning any matches you might have had to play at the finish. Matt Stephens knows this but has to play to the narrative of hype.

  6. Sepp Kuss is possibly the greatest Super Domestique in the entire history of the sport.

And how he joins Tyler Hamilton as the only 2 Americans to win in all 3 grand tours πŸŽ‰

  7. So, so happy for Seppie! Had no idea he would win the stage, and to find out that he’s a triple grand tour winner was amazing!

  8. It's disappointing to see the commentators spinning Ciccone's ride as a beautiful act of passion when what he really did was abandon his team leader for personal gain. Sepp's brilliance as the greatest of teamates stands in stark contrast to Ciccone who rides…for Ciccone.

  9. Chapeau to Sepp, maybe the nicest guy and definitely one of the best domestiques ever.

Thank you, Orla, for asking the teammate question and thank you Robby for answering that. The team probably wants both jerseys, though and hopefully that was a team decision, rather than an individual racer one.

  10. Sepp is a fantastic rider and one of the best super-domestiques. Ciccone is hit and miss and often MIA when it’s not about him

  11. Re Ciccone working for Gee, this is what happens when you have 3 leaders riding for three different objectives in the one race.

  12. Seb knows where he is, and what his job is. Jonas Vingegaard and the "Visma gang" have grinded the greatest cyclist in history into pulp, -twice. That would never happened without the strongest team. Seb is still there, I hope Jonas and his team takes his third TdF this year!
Let's be honest: Absolutely no other cyclist is even in the same division as "the Animal" and Jonas as GT riders. Pog have an extra level beside that.
Both have the best teams, but at the end there is just one:
Even Jonas don't have the opportunity to be the greatest rider of all time. Pog does, but not without a REAL contender. The day the day "the Animal" gets bored, he quit!
Honestly: Let us bet on who gets the third podium place in TdF after "the Animal" and Jonas.
They both need each other, until a youngster appears.
I hope a certiain french youngster ends up on third place this year. If so; – and if that frenchmen don`t get crushed by french expectations: Both "the Animal" and Jonas need to watch out for the rest.
Two is a fight, three will be a whole new level into a an epic battle.
Propably the ony way to hold Pog away from boredom in cycling is to get a third man into the eqation.

  13. Sepp reminds me of Andy Hampsten 2.0. They both strike me as humble climbers who don't seek the limelight, but can pull a big win out of the hat when the stars align (Hampsten at the Giro d'Italia and Kuss at the Vuelta a EspaΓ±a).

Another similarity is they have both lived in Colorado (Hampsten in Boulder and Kuss in Durango).

And they both seem like genuinely nice guys who would be just as down to earth and humble if you happened to meet them on the street, even without the cameras around. In fact a former coworker spotted Hampsten in public, and said that he was actually a little embarrassed to be recognized like a celebrity.

Of course the major difference is that Hampsten was a team leader for 7-Eleven, and Kuss is a domestique for Visma – Lease a Bike.

This is the first time I have discovered your channel's reaction video. I wish I found it sooner! Normally I click on the first highlight video that comes up in my suggestions list because I don't want to have the result spoiled in a thumbnail, and then I don't go back for other videos. I will know to look for these next time – or Saturday and Sunday, as some people would call it. πŸ˜„
