I posted this over on r/nostalgia about 1 week ago because my husband claimed this thing was a big deal. The folks over there pretty much confirmed he was right ☹️ and suggested I post it here to get your opinion. They also mentioned "restoring" it. What might that entail and is it a good idea? It is 100% original as purchased right now.

WOW!! Awesome bike.
Yeah my brake lock buttons on mine popped off a long time ago no idea where they flew off to. I have a GT Performer it looks very similar to your husband’s but mine is all white. Those handles look exactly how mine did and white gets dirty real fast. These GT’s are built to last.
Great bike- do not restore if you want to keep the value- clean it up- elbow grease and some time- beautiful color and highly sought after- a true Survivor BMX
Also cross post this on Oldschoolbmx
Damn. Even has the silly peg boards and folders still.
This is a piece of BMX history.
I had a late 80s Dyno. Got stolen from my house by shithead neighbors. Sad.

This one sold about two months ago
Don’t try to “restore” it. Hang it on the wall or sell it to a collector as is.
This was my 80’s dream bike! Unobtainable expensive at the time, exponentially more expensive today 😄
I rode flat on one of those frames in the mid 90s. Loved it until I got a Haro Master.
