Leaving the valley floor, the landscape transforms completely as the road hooks upward toward the high Alps. Riding a loaded touring bike up to 1800m above sea level was an absolute test of legs and lungs, but the rewarding, breathtaking mountain views at the summit made every single pedal stroke worth it.
