Mountain Biking Winter Escape in – Sintra, Portugal – Burro Trail

🌧️ Winter Mountain Biking Escape
This ride was part of a 10 day winter escape from London to Portugal, with five rides in total in Southern Portugal. This ride, in Sintra delivered one of the most memorable days on the bike, both bad and good.

🚵 Trail Conditions
Weeks of heavy rain had carved the Burro Trail into deep ruts that turned into flowing streams, making the riding technical, slow, and demanding. Conditions were far from ideal, but the challenge added to the experience.

🌲 Atmosphere and Solitude
The park was nearly empty, offering appreciated solitude. Misty forests, rugged hills, open expanses and a quiet stillness defined much of the ride.

🌊 Sea Vistas
Most of ride I was rewarded with spectacular Atlantic views, with dramatic sea vistas that made the effort worthwhile and unforgettable.
