I planned a trip so I can exactly accomplish a century, but komoot tells me I should try harder next time 🤣. I was this👌close! Looks like my bike computer is on my side though. Anyways, I really enjoyed the day and I'm kinda happy with my today's performance. I suffered in the last section due to the high gear ratio of my bike (relation on slowest gear is 1:1). On flat terrain it's of course a different story.

Have fun everyone!

Ah go cycle around the car park. You still did 100miles in a day

You’d need to do 161km to complete a century ride. 62 miles isn’t bad though!

  3. A century is typically viewed as a 100miler, 160km or so.

Some people call 100km a metric century.

Whatever you want to call it, that ride looked epic I’m kinda jealous…

  4. hard to say. does the computer track via a sensor at your wheel or via gps?

but in the end. who cares? you did great. also… what i did the last time in such a situation. just rode around the block once more. 😃

My bike computer sand bagged me 4 miles and 400 feet elevation yesterday vs both of my friends that were mighty close to each other’s on a 30 mile mtb bushwhacker adventure.

So yeah, I vote to round up (edit and call it metric cent)!

Why not ride the extra 0.2 km at the end?
This is insane not to. You don’t deserve a rounding. Just kidding.

A couple years ago I was working on a mileage goal and it came right down to the last few days of the year. The last week of December, I needed to do some *big* rides. Also, this was through a Northern California wet and shitty winter.

Last day, new years eve, I needed to get like 112 miles in to meet my goal. I got up early, set off for the ride, and it fucking rained the entire time. Like, cold, shitty, windy, and *dark* rain. It. Fucking. Sucked. The entire time.

I strung a couple loops together to get me to my goal, two 60ish miles loops I do on the regular, and new I’d just finished my goal. As the sun set on this long shitty day, I found myself riding home, right on my mileage goal. I had done it. I got to my front door, got inside, and instantly stripped down naked to get out of my wet fucking clothes. I was *freezing*, cold and wet to the bone.

I got the wet clothes off, curled up in a blanket in front of a space heater, and uploaded my ride to Strava… 111.2 miles. I was .8 miles short of my goal.

Whelp, fuck it. I put the wet clothes back, went back out into the rain, road a mile to the corner store to buy some beer, and hit my goal. That, fucking, sucked. But, I did it.

Moral of the story? Check your ride before you finish it lol.

  8. It counts. Nice ride.

Ignore the Yanks who forget the rest of the world doesn’t use their Freedom Units.

If you measure it in Centimeters then yes… In fact, 9 centuries and nearly 10.
