Hey, props to you for getting into fixed gear! After a while, when you find out you really like it, get a fixed gear-dedicated frameset. Yours is most likely not too rigid and will twist about under load and is very long, which will work against you when skidding. Most importantly however, it has road dropouts which means that the rear axle can come loose under breaking and jump out of the frame. I rode a road frame fixie for half a year and nothing catastrophic happened as I kept overtightening the axle nuts to be sure but the safer option is definitely not replacing the axle nuts every two months and getting a frame with horizontal dropouts. Just needed to let you know – otherwise good luck and have fun;)

I think I might be the one who did that conversion years ago. If you’re in Birmingham I’m almost positive I did.
