Hello everyone. I am currently in the process of setting up the Claris 2×8 front derailleur of my newly bought domane al2gen4. All the gears work smoothly, however, when shifting into the highest gear (gear 16), there is a ratteling sound produced at the front derailleur when pedaling hard. This sound is not present in the lower gears (15th, etc.) So i assume the derailleur is still to far inward. However, the H limiter screw is already all the way out. How can this be? Is it normal?

Are you sure the front derailleur fully shifted into the highest chainring? On many bikes, the front derailleur moves across multiple positions, and it’s common for riders to stop shifting halfway—where the chain hasn’t completely climbed onto the largest ring.
I had this problem with my al4 this week. The cable stretched ever so slighly and the derailure couldnt tighten enough to get all the way out. It rattled on the hardest gear on the front and the back
I loosened the cable at the derailure, used a needle nosed pliars to wrap the cable and pull it tight, while using an allen key to move the derailure all the way put and tightened the cable back up. I just couldnt pull the cable tight enough without the pliars.
Opening the limit screw helped too
The limit screws don’t adjust the gears, theyre just there to stop the chain falling off the edge
Have you heard of microshifting or trim function?
