So I tried fitting the tool but there isn't enough space for it to go in. When I checked the web I realized that this metal ring thing doesn't appear in the videos or any bike I have seen in youtube. Even though the teeth match up, I wanted to make sure that the removal tool is the right one FR.5 by asking AI to confirm the compatibility of the tool with the model of the bike, can anyone help me through this?

It should fit, think you have the wrong tool. Every brand has is own you know, what brand is the cassette?

Have you tried removing the axle from the hub?

You should be able to release the locknut and cone from the non drive side and then the axle can be removed. This should allow access to the lockring.

  3. I usually go to the other side, remove the lock nut and cone and pull the axle through from the drive side.

What’s the brand and model of hub? (and/or, year/brand/model of bike)
