I took on the UK’s toughest new gravel race – Dalby Grit – and it nearly broke me. – Watch More https://youtu.be/o3qmB9FCHsI
Welcome to my second ever gravel race – Dalby Grit 2025, possibly the hardest gravel race in the UK! This new event threw everything at me: steep climbs, technical descents, fast riders, and the brutal reality of my lack of training.
This video captures every gritty detail of the ride — from the excitement at the start line to the suffering on the climbs and the fast-paced action on the descents. If you’re into UK gravel racing, endurance cycling, or just want to see how I survived one of the toughest gravel events around, this one’s for you.

📖 ABOUT ME
This channel combines my two passions, cycling and photography/videography. I have been riding for 5+ years, but inspired by my son who competes nationally in triathlon I have decided to do some cycle racing. Cyclocross, MTB, Gravel, Crits, & TT’s I’m going to try it all.
In 2016 I was diagnosed with Coeliac’s Disease, I am also lactose intolerant. This does present some issues when trying to fuel my longer rides as not all stops have gluten free options.

Well done. A great video. Many thanks for buying the photo.
Great event. That’s a real burner.
Well Done, considering saddlesore and not
Much distance training. Keep up your fitness.👍🏻
Thank you for sharing, makes for a great watch 😊
Great stuff. This was my first ever gravel race and it was a baptism of fire! 😂
I wasn’t fast (4hrs 55) but I loved it. Can’t wait to do it again and try and go sub 4.30.
Great video. Tough course especially the longer lap. I was in that group that caught you. I'll definitely be back next year.
Great ride and video! It was hot out there, got the better of me towards the end
I was the guy sat at the matshalling point after the long descent on 2nd lap. It wasn't that turn that got me, I got taken out at 42mph about 200m before the turn by another rider losing control at speed, 3 of us went down. I was waiting for a van pick up back to base.
About 1800 metres of climbing…I’d agree – harder than the Gralloch and the wind was blowing.
I’m against jumping on the back of anyone and sitting there. I think as long as you’re contributing it’s fine ..they’re helping you – you’re helping them. Might be different if I was jumping in with the race lead or there was a rule..but neither applied here. Rode most of the first big loop with 2 of the women who passed me ..definitely made me ride harder ..until I had a mechanical. I’m betting Numbers will at least double for next year.
I would like to see a video about your van setup.
Brilliant video. I've recently started out on gravel and having such a great time. Would love to enter a few events this year but have no idea where to start
