Alright, back at it again with the dilemma now that I've got the Diamondback in my hands. Pretty much what I thought. A 27.5 tank that's predictable and fun. However, I don't need both of these…I don't. They both have carbon wheelsets – DCB hoops with DT Swiss 350's in the SJ, and Reynolds TR307E's on the Diamondback – everything else is factory. Even with the fundamental differences, and a bit of varying riding profiles, these overlap too much to keep both, right? RIGHT?

Keep both, one to offer up to a buddy when you need someone to ride with + looks like a two car (bike) garage to me.
If you have to get rid of one, which one do you ride more? That’s really the only question. Having an extra as a loaner to a friend is great, tbh. You can’t really sell mountain bikes for much, so you’ll be taking a bath on it regardless of which you sell. If you have space, just keep both of em. If you have to get rid of one, get rid of the one you don’t ride as often.
Spend another $2k in parts making them as different as possible and enjoy both.
Sky blue it is.
Send the blue Diamonback to me so you never have to think about this again.
kinda been there with overlapping bikes. what helped me was looking at the trails i actually ride most. if one is way more fun on 80% of your local stuff, that’s the keeper. the other one just becomes a garage decoration. maybe sell the diamondback and use the cash for a totally different bike later – like a dirt jumper or a gravel rig. gives you variety without the overlap guilt
