A wonderful sunny day on May 1st … decided to take the train from Cologne to Bad Muenstereifel and then first ride to the source of the river Erft. From there back to Bad Muenstereifel and along the Erft past Euskirchen, Erftstadt und Kerpen before turning east and back to Cologne.
A really enjoyable ride and lots of fun along the gravel tracks. The official Erft River Cycleway changes sides from time to time – and I mostly then chose the opposite side to get onto the lesser used and slightly rougher paths 🙂
And on weekends I can highly recommend the cafe at Schloss Tuernich.
