Hey guys I've been wanting to get back into biking so I can get back into shape and ride with my kids. I found this bike in a scrap pile. It was a wreck and I figured bringing it back from the dead was cheaper than buying a new bike. I've replaced the cranks, pedals, chain, rear cassette, rear derailleur and front derailleur, all cables, discs and put new tires on it. I think it's just about right and I think I've got it basically dialed in. The one thing I'm unsure of is how many links I should take out of the chain. I think it's a bit too long. Also was I crazy to put this back together? I know it's no showstopper but my wife allowed it as part by part it was cheaper than going out and buying a new bike. And I honestly kinda enjoyed the challenge. I learned a lot and it's allowed me to be able to tune my kids bikes and get them riding more. I also posted a before image and the other bike I pulled out of the scrap pile and where I'm at with it.

you did a great job on the bike! i’m sure you learned a whole lot in the process. knowing your bike makes you a better cyclist. you will be able to maintain and repair it yourself in the future now.
