Endurance bikes bring all the latest road race tech but with an easy to live with ride position. You get more comfort than a race bike and features than make them far more practical for everyday riding.
That means more generous tyre clearances, mudguard/fender eyelets, even on/in bike storage. With geometry and construction better suited to long rides. Quite simply these are the bikes that if you’re not pinning on a number, you should be riding.
Here’s my top five endurance bikes available in 2026.

  1. Sorry, but bullshit. No Lauf or Scott in this list? Ridiculous. And sorry, the only people that care about mudguard mounts are the English. For virtually every other rider there are great mud guards you can throw on and take off without 'mounts'. Personally, I have never in my life used or needed them and I have lived all over the world and done bike touring. And in frame storage is pointless for road bikes. We don't need the number of tools and shit gravel riders need. Everything I need fits in my saddle bag and 1 jersey pocket.

  2. What value for money are you talking about? These prices are crazy in my opinion. For comparison my 2020 BMW F900R motorcycle costs around 6300 EUR at the moment.

  3. How does the most non-endurance bike (new Canyon Endurace) make this list??!! These big channels only care about pleasing the big bike brand gods. I don't even pay attention to what they say/think anymore! And yea, the UK region are the only people who care about mud guards.

  4. I don't want electronic shifting or carbon wheels on my endurance bikes. So I wouldn't want any of these, only the Argon 18 is interesting, but would be a step down for me.

I want easy to fix, reliable and mechanical components. I want top quality but not needlessly high-tech.

It's bad enough my 2017 Koga Colmaro has internal cable routing, a horrible faff.
A fantastic bike though, still very modern for it's age. 11 speed Ultegra, 30 mm tire clearance, disc-brakes, through axels. Wouldn't exchange it for any of these.

My 2013 Colnago Ace is showing it's age though, only 25 mm tire clearance. But it has rim-brakes so that is a plus. Just simple, no faff, swiss stop stopping power.

  5. Just how much bigger do tyre clearances have to get ! Sick of hearing it . Gone from 26 mm on my Γ‰monda to 32mm on my defy pro 0 and that’s more than enough for a road bike and I’m 100 kg πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

  6. As usual, the word β€˜sporty’ crops up a lot in your in your list of top endurance bike. It seems clear you like racy endurance bikes. For me, comfort beats racy-ness.

  7. I have realised most youtubers discuss the 3000+ range as I understand that is where the money is for the companies. But for amateurs like me who are making that big decision anything between a 1000-2000 is a stretchy budget and alas we dont have much on that segment. What about domane, allez, allroad and such…very less discussion.

  8. Well I'm a tall dude, which has made me have to come to terms with the fact that a lot of the bikes I love like Time and Took aren't big enough for me. Absolute number one for me, assuming I won the lottery of course, would be the pinarello Dogma x. But for a reasonable bike, I'm actually surprised it's not on your list, I would absolutely go with the BMC Road machine, and of course even though I hate specialized, they would have to be on the list. And then of course I would have to put wilier on there, not necessarily because it's the right size for me or anything, But Wilier is one of those were I could just sit there and stare at the bike. Great video!

  9. I find it so annoying that so many people say if you’re not racing you should ride endurance bikes.

Why? So many different reasons go into what bike you choose. A big one being aesthetics. Obviously beauty is subjective endurance bikes just don’t look as good.

  10. Merida Mission. Yep, I know, it's classed as a "gravel" bike but its geometry and specs make it more than a match for the bikes in this list. It's got all the storage, mounting points etc of all these. 27.2mm round seat post, BSA bottom bracket and room for 40mm gravel tyres so can easily fit any road tyre you want and it's pretty good value.

  11. Is this about the best endurance bikes or the best price ?? I vote for Pinarello X7 better than any you mentioned ….. but more expensive

  12. As has been said by just about everyone but Bike Radar the Giant Defy is basically a race geometry now very close to the TCR. Also they use hookless wheels on a road bike with very limited tire choices which makes it an automatic no buy unless you will replace the wheels immediately. The Synapse in the U.S. at least is priced ridiculously high. The Specialized Roubaix should always be on this list too.

  13. Been riding my Canyon Endurace CFSL 8 Disc since 2017, probably done tens of thousands of miles on it, replaced a few wheels, the dodgy Shimano Ultegra cranks split apart but were replaced FOC other than that been a superb bike to such an extent I haven’t even thought about getting another road bike since i have owned it.

  14. Great vid of sensibly priced bikes. Glad to see Argon 18 getting a look in. I guess it was price that nudged the Argon 18 Krypton and Krypton Pro out of the top 5 – the Pro is a seriously great bike

  15. For the Defy forget frame storage, perhaps more aero tube shape but maintain the current compliance, threaded bottom bracket and a hooked wheel set.
