I also changed the seat, chain, back cassette and added a front mud guard (it didnt fit into my bike so I attached it with zip ties). My seat was too high as well so I lowered it. I didn't have a better or earlier before picture
Your forks are on backwards….. Thing probably rides like a dog compared to how it should!

If you also wear your helmet backwards, things should balance out.

Needs more zip ties. And also, as pointed out, your forks are backwards.

Tape instead of string might work better to mount the front fender. There’s a roll of masking tape there on the counter you could use.

I commend you for your effort, you clearly have not tried Drop Bars in the City and living the Adventure. Have fun and enjoy your build. I personally slapped flat tires and click pedals on my MTB and now I am racing them roadies. Flat bars are far more stable and controllable, while drop bars are for speed. If you are not gonna use the drops as drops. Don’t worry, neither do most road cyclist. But still Flat bars win in traffic and commuting for me. Make sure you upgrade to flat road tires instead of MTB tires. Tire profile wins you more speed then aero dynamics 🙂

Glad you corrected the front fork. But I thought a t-bar and cabling couldn’t be swapped for a drop bar configuration? Or, was it just not worth the expense? I can’t remember now.

Good job, looks like a lot of work. Will be quite faster especially w the tires. Fix that front mudguard situation tho haha

I was looking at all the quirky accessories when I noticed your rear skewer is on the wrong side then I noticed your entire fork is backwards. How do you ride this thing?

Good on you for working on the bike and showing it to the world. Bikes are one of the few easier things to work in the world since its mechanicals are out in the open. In the future there are plenty of resources one can read or watch if you’ve got trouble with fine tuning anything. Normally I’d defend this sub as some light ribbing, but even the guy pointing out the remnants of the old kickstand was an absolute ass about it. No wonder no one wants to participate in the socials of this sport. As a mechanic, hilarious mistakes and the zip tie situation has me in stitches (or zips), but good effort. You might take your final product by a shop to make sure things are tightened properly (a safety check) to make sure you won’t have issues down the line.

They do have black zip ties.
Did you wrap the bars yourself? Lol
