  1. Some context for anyone wondering, I will try to keep it short.

Bought new GR4’s, after installation brake leaked a lot, shop changed bladder and it was fixed.

Took brakes to other shop for a second opinion and he said O.K., I asked to have the pads and rotors cleaned because of the leak that was near pads, shop2 torched the pads to burn off oil and cleaned the rotors

I am finding that a bit after initial bite I am not getting as much power as I would expect even after 3-4 rides, AI says that shop2 burned the resin of the pads and glazed them

I think the answer lies with the rotors. The pads don’t get destroyed like that out of the blue. Whatever pads you replace these with will have the same fate soon enough.

Stop using AI. You don’t want trash answers, but then use AI for trash answers. The problem is you came to reddit as the alternative and guaranteed someone will say “gLaZeD” or some dumb shit like that.

The pads aren’t trash, they look normal for used pads on the face. I don’t know if the thickness is even. That’s how my pads all look after a few rides and broken in. Scratches happen with particules from the soil. No idea what the other person is saying about them being destroyed.

You will sadly get trash answers here, too. The Hope green pads are just Galfer resins. If you need more power step up to actual Galfer advanced or performance or Hope Sintereed.

I would regardless sand the pads down slightly to roughen the surface and rebed them in.

Run your fingernail vertically across the surface of the rotor. If you feel sharp edges and deep valleys, that is bad. It should be quite smooth with minimal scratches. 🤔

Only thing I’ll add to this conversation is that you haven’t mentioned bedding in the pads/rotors? Have you gone through a full and proper bedding procedure? Some pads you can kind of get away without doing it (though you’ll still never full performance). But others will just glaze and/or not work properly without a good full bed in.
