Hi all, would appreciate some help here. Just bought a second hand bike for my gf, and she’s not a fan of how buzzy/loud the freehub is on the Vel carbon wheels.
Is there any way to quieten this down beyond replacing the hub entirely? Obviously it would involve taking the casette off and some freehub disassembly but I’d rather not go through that if that’s not an option with this sort of hub.

You could try lubricating the engagement pawls with a thin grease, but the likelihood is this will result in the pawls sticking open or closed at some point in the near future.
