It’s not only Boulder, CO: Germany wants to basically ban MTBs from any singletrails in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Please sign petition.
Didn’t understand the article due to the language barrier but I understand that if MTBers don’t use the land properly or according to the rules then those who own the land will find ways to restrict its use.

Meanwhile Austria:
Entering the woods outside of public paths is only permitted on foot. Meaning apart from gravel roads its illegal to ride in the woods without the explicit permission of the owner, which often is the state/county. There was even a collection of signatures, if they could collect enough the government has to review the topic. Unfortunately the mentality towards mtbikers and cyclists in general here in Austria is rather hateful so i dont have too much hopes are it being successful
