The bike seems solid, but as an owner of a full mechanical Endurace CF 8 2022, with the same 4 cables, I am feeling really weird this cable routing. On my bike it is way better. Not sure if it is from the rear brake.

This is my wife's new bike, it is 2XS, as you can see the stem is very short. Maybe the size is causing it.

It is not the end of the world. She will not even notice it.

Seems like the boys weren’t particularly interested in doing a better job. Since its all external routing you can either remove the bar tape and shorten the cables yourself. You may need to bleed the brakes after. Else, bring it to your LBS. You can expect min 60€ for all 4 cables and two bleeds plus new bar tape.

    Or…leave as is 😉

It’s kinda two different things adding up to make it look weird. The brake hoses look a little too long so they’re extra “loopy”. Performance wise, it should be fine. Just a guess, but maybe they use precut sections of hose during assembly, and they use the same length of hose for multiple frame sizes so it’s long on the 2xs size.

Then you have the shifter cables routed down the wrong side of the downtube. Normally they cross in front of the head tube so the rear shifter cable (right hand) enters the downtube on the non-drive side and the front cable enters on the drive size. Again, not really a performance issue, just ugly.

Pretty easy fix at a local bike shop so it’s a question of whether or not it’s worth spending money for a largely cosmetic fix. Though, if they were this sloppy on assembly, maybe having a mechanic give the bike a good once over isn’t a bad idea.
