Hey everyone,

I don’t want to be a nuisance, and maybe this is completely normal, but I just got the newly released Endurace CF 5, which is great so far.

One thing that’s bothering me a bit is that the cables are asymmetrical on each side, mainly the left-side rear hydraulic line, which seems a little too long.

I already tried gently wiggling it to move it 1–2 cm further into the frame, but there’s so much friction at the rubber grommet that it doesn’t really move. I know it’s a minor cosmetic thing, but it would be nice to get the left and right sides looking more even.

Has anyone dealt with this, or is this normal?

Thanks, and have a great day!

This is really normal and one of the many reasons to spend a little more, get the ones with internal routing and then not have to think about this 😉

Mechanic will be happy, so will your wallet. Easier to change than fully integrated cables

I guess it’s pretty normal tbh.
Could you post some pic of the whole bike? I’m curious about the color

I would not try to push it in further because you will increase the bend on the shifter hoses. That will wear them down faster and would probably degrade shifting quality quite soon. As others have commented, this is quite the sweet spot for clean integration and maintainability. The alternative is even more messy cables that enter the downtube on the sides.

  5. Throw it away and buy a new one. Maybe the cables will be a bit more symmetric on the next one.

  6. I don’t get canyon. Isn’t the new Endurace the one with the square rear wheel cutout?

  7. The flakes on the paint job look really nice but it’s more pink than expected. My CF5 is the beige color. Hopefully arriving soon.
