Hello,
I’m currently trying to decide on my next bike!
I live in the mountains, but I also enjoy long rides on flatter terrain.
I’ve been looking at these two bikes and I’m hesitating between the following options:
– Ultimate CF SLX AXS 8 (€6,499) + Zipp 404 wheels (58 mm) — weight: 7.42 kg
– Aeroad CFR Di2 (€8,900) with DT Swiss ARC 1100 55 mm wheels — weight: 7.04 kg
(And maybe option 3: the 2026 Endurace CFR?)
At first glance, I find the Ultimate build a bit unusual, and I’m not sure whether it’s actually a good setup — or if, once fitted with deep wheels, it loses most of the Ultimate’s advantages without really reaching the Aeroad’s level.
Thanks!

If I hadn’t just bought a gravel bike and my ultimate, I’d be buying the new Endurace.
I’d buy the ultimate. More comfortable ride
Aeroad is the answer. You aren’t going to notice the few hundred grams. I strongly believe the ultimate is a useless bike these days
This Ultimate color is unreal, that’s the one I would pick in a heartbeat
Personally I own an ultimate, I’d get the ultimate for no other reason than I think all aero bikes look lame.
I’ll get downvoted for this but to me all aero bikes look like an 8 year old boys idea of what looks cool.
Way prefer more the more classic lines of the ultimate.
The best advice we can give is buy the bike that you think looks the best. Both are great bikes, take the bike that makes you want to take it out for a ride the most.
Aeroad. Nobody rides ultimate nowadays …if anything consider the endurace
From my reading, the ultimate is good for climbs because it’s “lighter.” I can’t remember bonking out of a climb because I had a water bottle on me, since that is the essential weight differences between the two.
I love the ultimate color but I do not appreciate “the look” of the 80s bike geometry lol.
I had zero issues that weren’t my own, climbing in the aeroad and I live in a very hilly area.
Endurace CF SLX; comfort of the Ultimate with way more tire clearance and close to tge Aeroad in aero.
Now if you’re talking about these two because they are cheaper than that…Abroad. I want to know I got the most performance for my money so that’s an easy choice for me.
