From sourcing your own bearings online for the driver to being able to buy a WTP hybrid and not touch it ever. Beautiful

Anyone heard from George French on bikeguide about when the gSport coaster is coming out though?

Cassettes really are the minority amongst riders now. Karl Poynter sold us with this part but the hubs were almost a part-time job 15 years ago. Anyone still here from the Federal V2 and Nankai days?

  1. Always wanted one but didn’t feel like building my own rear wheel setup.

Odyssey revolver was my first.. and a first generation khe was my second. Still have both.

Literally the only reason I ever wanted to try coasters was for long sliders

  4. I rode an odyssey free coaster, before they bought gsport. Then a Khe greyhound. Then finally a khe reverse, then all the clones happened. Still on a khe clone today. But want to try a planetary

  5. Freecoasters in my mind were really for flatland. I sure technology improved since 2009 with free coasters. I swear watch any mutiny bmx video from 2008-2013 and tell me that a cassette isn’t as cool. Cassettes were my only way to its healthy balance of speed and technicality.

  6. Had a Federal v2 and that held around 2-3 years of everyday riding (commuting included). I only had to replace the bearing in the clutch and sold it to a fellow rider for cheap, wish I didn’t and just put it on display.

They can pry my eastern buzzip hub from my cold dead hands. Beautifully loud and crisp sound and I don’t know what riding without that sound would be like.

  8. Shout out Bruce Crisman and Dan Cox as well, although I’ve never run one despite loving their sections.

  9. Riding fakie with cassettes is way harder than pedaling back.
And I am not talking about fufanu and cabs.
But when you get there – it is so fun
