I was always warned about “gate way drugs” growing up. I drank, smoked weed, tried coke a couple times. No addiction and no real desire to try more or keep doing any of them.

My first road bike, though…
I’m on my 3rd gravel bike now. I think a heroine addiction would have been cheaper.
