
That can't be right, i bougth it from an official shimano dealer lbs so the chain can't be a fake, right? The tool i used is shimano tl-cn42. The bike shifts fine, no skipping, both the chairings and the cassette looks fine. I'm afraid of keep riding it because if the chain is actually worn it will cooked the drive train, any ideas? Thank you!

You have the instruction printed out on the tool. Use it as instructed.
Did it sink into that position without resistance?
Also, it’s slightly better to use the spaces between the inner plates for measuring, to prevent the measuring tool resting on the inner plates’ edges instead on the rollers.
