It Looks Like the chainstay protector
Just Google it, and you will find pictures where it is mounted

  2. It is very common that this piece falls off. If you google, Brompton Chainstay Protector, you should see some photos.

When you fold your Brompton, pay attention to where the front wheel hooks onto your rear triangle, that is the exact spot where this piece is supposed to be. It helps to protect your rear triangle frame from scratches to the paint and takes all the weight of your front wheel and stem/handlebar plus if you add a compatible front carrier bag filled up while rolling your Brompton in its folded state. Highly suggest to have that piece or another piece you buy online to protect your rear triangle frame/paint.

If you look for photos online or facebook Brompton forums it will show you the location, you can get a good idea of how it should be placed. If only Reddit allowed us to post photos on replies, I would have added a photo to help you but hopefully you can find photos online.

It helps protect your rear triangle frame/paint when you fold your Brompton and hook the front wheel to it. It comes like that from Brompton during shipping, it is held on with adhesive tape. If you like how it looks, you can use a zip tie to secure it, like a bike mechanic did for me when I asked him about this piece commonly falling off (as noted from multiple online posts) on my P Line, to prevent it from falling off in the future.

They fall off all the time mine fell off before I even got the bike. Nothing to worry about OP, if your worried about scratching that area there are much better third party options that don’t fall off.

Nah! Never seen it before and I don’t think anyone else has. Are you sure it fell off your Brompton and not something else you had with you?🤔

Edit <Sorry that my attempt at humour missed the mark. It was inappropriate and ill-judged. Perhaps influenced by a bad day, ADHD impulsiveness or other.

I do think there needs to be a sticky thread of very common topics on Bromptons which repeat frequently. Particularly for new owners or new to cycling Brompton owners. With this topic right at the top.>

Is that a C Line in Dune Sand? I just got one and that exact part fell off within a week of using it.
