Same with the 1993 Bridgestone XO-1 and I saw one sell for $2000 in under 2 hrs the other day.

“Rock combo” ? Yea. The name definitely did not help! Bout the same time, circa 92-93 I put the fattest tires I could find on my cannondale sc1000, road that thing all over the Mojave desert! Crazy it took so long for gravel bikes craze to finally hit! We were building them, though!

my dad had that bike. Had a rear rack installed with a child carrier he’d haul me around on. Great memory. Thanks

Great bike! They still ride good today. Amazing that there are some timeless bikes out there that still seem fresh. The original handlebars on these are perfect.

Ok,I guess there are two bikes I regret getting rid of. I bought it used with a flat bar and I put drops on it. I used it as a messenger bike in Houston for 4 years and it was beat to hell but damn, it would’ve been nice to restore.

  7. I had one for a while. It’s pretty unpleasant to ride.

It’s a mountain bike that rides like a road bike, when people seem to want road bikes that ride like mountain bikes.

Unpopular opinion… I will go to my death bed uttering the words, “Fuck Specialized”. They are the “Elon Musk” of bicycle history. Dominance at any cost, no matter the collateral damage to anyone in their wake.

I actually owned one of those!!! It was a total weirdo and the only one out there. So far ahead of its time it was in a separate quantum existence. I lived in Boulder and unfortunately you don’t get to own your bike very long there if you’re not extremely careful and I wasn’t.
