Invisaframe sounds cool and all, but in practice I rarely see an instance where it's seamless. Reminds me of that old tradition of covering sofa and chairs with heavy-duty plastic protection film to protect from wear.
Yeah, bit of a catch 22. It looks better without the film – until you get your first chip and then you wish you’d had it the whole time. Ask me how I know

But it’s not a couch, it’s a bike frame, and no one but you is really noticing nor caring about the seams

I never understood it. Make my bike look uglier to protect from paint nicks? I’d rather have my bike display some wear from being well used, and maybe apply some protection film specifically where I know a bag or cable might rub. I buy my bike to ride it and use it, not keep it pristine as some investment to be made back upon resale.

Here where I stay, people paint their bikes in an ugly colour to prevent it from stealing. Sounds like a similar deal.

Even worse, the fact that whoever invisiframed that bike didn’t remove the sizing sticker! And then left a few bubbles behind..

looks fine to me. don’t think ive ever looked this closely at someones bike irl before to even notice. my steel frame is scratched to hell which is fine, but maybe i would consider this on a nice road bike if i ever got one.

That’s an intense level of film. I bought some 3M tape and placed it strategically on the bike. Not terribly noticeable but effective. I love it.

You’ve bought a bike, not a decorative piece for your garage. It’s allowed to look used.

People need to accept that things will get damaged with use. It’s normal. Save the time, money, and stress of giving a massive fuck. Wrapping cars is equally as stupid in my onion. Wash it and wax it and keep the paint nice and don’t worry about the rest

I run the protective film on my chainstay and head tube where my internal routing starts(don’t like the cables to rub off the paint). That’s on my road and gravel bikes. My MTB, is basically covered, since it gets abused going down hill on single track. But to each their own…if you like your bike getting paint chips cool…

That bike’s ugly as shit anyway who cares 🤣

Small pieces of Heli tape for rub points on the headtube and seat and chain stay are all you need.

Over the size sticker 😩

Ridewrap is the only one i’d use. You can’t even see it.

I actually hate it because inevitably it gets dirty and starts to peel which looks even worse than a scratch, and it’s not designed to be removed

Chain and cable protection is all you need. Think of that extra weight just eating those sweet, sweet watts

Being a filthy casual, I buy used bikes so this film is not part of my vocabulary.

I understand your point and I agree. But I throw my bike on the back of my car with other bikes so often and are crammed in close together with other ones that I would rather have some unsightly seams, than constant paint chipping from being jostled around.

I wouldn’t put it all over my bike but it’s definitely helpful in the high impact areas.
