I'm purchasing some Velo Orange Crazy bars to try something new. I'm out of grip tape (I just rewrapped my dedicated gravel bike) and from all the reviews I've seen, easiest to wrap the "horns" part, but some have grips and some wrap the entire bar. Got me thinking.
Anyone using flat or alt bars (because 99.99% of dropbars are wrapped) on their commuter, are you using grip tape wrapped on them? Or actual grips. Which one and why? Comfort, grip, because it's what you had?
Anyone with the crazy bars, I would love to hear from you especially.

Have seen grips on dropbars. Not my cup of cake.
I’d go with the way they have it in the pictures, with grips on the bar ends and tape on the horns area. That will make a lot easier to remove the brake lever or shifters or any other things you have mounted to the bars for servicing your bike.
I love the Crazy Bars, I have them on my Long Haul Trucker. I run Ergon GA3 grips on the swept back bars and Newbaum’s Cotton tape on the flats and bullhorns. It feels better than cork tape when wet and has a nice texture. I’d double the cloth tape though for a little extra cushion.

I like to tape the horns and use grips for the ends so I can change bars around easier
Running Jones bars with foam or ESI grips and padded cork tape on the rear section.
I have wide risers in mine and I have them wrapped just past the first bend. I chose that for looks because I was building a brakeless fixie but I like that I can use so much of the bar. I can grip far out at the ends when I climb, in at the bends when I want a little tuck and everywhere in between when I just need to change up my position slightly.
