The annual BEMSEE meeting on the Donington Park Grand Prix circuit has become a regular fixture for me. The usual support from the British Superkart Championship, who are also holding their Grand Prix this weekend, is always great to have along. In addition, it was the opening round for the British Sidecar Championship, meaning there was 2, 3 and 4 wheel action all throughout the weekend. Every grid was packed full, leading to many battles up and down the field in all the races. Short 5-lap races for the bikes meant there wasn’t time to waste when setting up an overtake. This video just shows the action from Saturday, with another due to come out tomorrow showing the action from Sunday at the Melbourne Loop.
A pretty unfortunate incident (10:02) in the second MZ race as the two leaders, Alex Mann and Andrew Wales slipped off on the last lap at the exact same time, even doing identical rolls! A little hug afterward pretty much sums up the racing in BEMSEE and both were out the next day.

How riders can afford to go racing in this day and age is beyond me. I started racing bikes in 1977, entries for two races was £8.50 for three £11.50 also included insurance.
