  1. I have been saying this for years about why there are so many crashes. In my opinion the design of the coarse has a big impact on whether there is going to be a crash, road furniture, pinch points, dangerous descents especially in bad weather.

  2. Jonas would be getting detrained from riding around at 160 watts for all these days. In addition to the safety, him attacking Stage 2 does the same thing as Pog riding off the front of a flat sprint stage at UAE.

  3. If everyone gets the same time from km3 don't see why all the “potential gc guys” don't just sit back and say crack on sprinters? Safer for the majority and less stress for the 50kg guys 🤔

  4. After Jonas' near fatal crash there were several bad Visma crashes. The team said they were taking a systematic look at why they had so many, so severe crashes. The new strategy maybe a result of the analysis. I hope so. It is anecdotal but it seems to me that Jonas is one of the few possibly the only one to come back to elite form after severe injury. I admire him.

  5. Re: Jonas driving the break v. Going down in a group of 15 (safely). Did you guys not see what happened to his teammate Matteo a few weeks ago (obviously you did). How about when Remco crashed right in front of Jonas. If all things are equal, perhaps better to be in front in some contexts like this.

  6. Consistent storytelling skills👏very interesting to hear G getting startled by a Bulgarian nan😂 (reminds me of most Asian nans also are like that when they try to explain to you anything 😂)

  7. First bump and Jonas easily drops almost everyone he says for safety reasons ie: smaller group on wet slippery roads. Imagine what he will do on the first big mountain stage.

  8. When will this stop, the Giro is an Italian race keep it in Italy, were getting fed up with BS, its as bad as the tour, its a good thing they are shorting these boring sprint races, the sprints should be in the race, say four or five and who ever gets the most points wins , so you have to go for every sprint, not sit in for 200 KM then do an all out sprint, dumb. And the UCI better stop protrcting riders from doping, and motor doping, we all know how corrupt it has become, I mean an 19 year old, Seixas and some of the others, what is this gene doping in another year they will be averaging 55 kpm and pulling 8 w/kg , for an hour its turning into a clown show us fans are getting fed up.

  9. It's the 2nd stage… 19 stages left for Jonas to attack.. I felt is was disrespectful after apparently wanting the GC neutralosed. But then again.. I dislike the boring cotton ball
