While I’m not a big fan of specialized these days, the Allez models with 27.2 seatposts are all super solid builds, and pretty great value. Credit where it’s due, that bike has 105 and sure the rest of the finishing kit and wheels are kind of cheap. But because it doesn’t have proprietary parts you have a ton of room to grow in it with upgrades down the road. So despite my personal feelings, yeah that honestly is a perfect first bike. Side note: it’s kind of a rite of passage to start on an Allez. Mine was a 2001 Allez Pro.
