Are you indicating the bottom bracket axle? I wouldn’t worry about it. It has good seals for a reason. (Provided it isn’t caked in mud and grit). To really clean that area you’d need a crank extractor tool, this will remove the crank arm completely exposing the BB axle.

Wrap a rag around it of your really worried about it and run it around but realistically it’S absolutely nothing to worry about.
