Ignore the horribly drawn “route” line from UP of Michigan to Missouri. I got a fat finger and no stylus.
Full of excitement and nervousness as this will be my longest tour over 4 days 😂
Hit a window of perfect opportunity in my life for a long tour in my young adulthood and decided to just go for it.
Originally was going to do Marquette Michigan to Denver but I’m not sure if I trust Komoot routes there was quite a bit of highways. Now my route from UP to Missouri will be quite a few rail trails from the looks of it.
Not sure if I’ll make it all the way to the coast, but I’ll be happy to cross a few states off on my 50 state bucket list.

Looks amazing! How long you expecting to be out?
It’s great that you’ve got this opportunity and that you’re going for it! I assume when you say “over 4 days” you’re talking about it being longer than your past tours that were four days, not that you have just 4+ days to complete this?
Southeast Utah and Oregon are some my favorite places on earth for cycling. Good luck to you!
You’re going to have a great time! I’ve done the Katy trail, and St Louis to Milwaukee, although at different times. There are plenty of trails on that route, and most are in decent shape. It’s also the 100th anniversary of Route 66 so a lot of towns will be doing special things to celebrate.
I want to do it. Maybe next year.
I love that you are linking between small towns. That is a great way to tour. Really makes it an adventure!
I’m in the north part of Illinois and I help run a small town bike shop if you or near you can stop by for service and food, msg me for specifics, have fun it will be amazing
