Background: Amateur mechanic, I have a wheel truing stand which I’ve used to true old wheels, but I haven’t tried a complete build just yet.
I’ve found an FSA tensiometer for £35 which I’m looking at buying, are these good units once calibrated? Anything to look out for when inspecting it? Thanks

It’s the Jobst Brandt design, though slightly older. [Currently sold by Wheel Fanatyk](https://wheelfanatyk.com/products/wheel-fanatyk-tensiometers?_pos=1&_psq=tensiometer&_ss=e&_v=1.0). They are the very best and worth having calibrated (or doing so DIY). As long as the plunger moves and rebounds smoothly, there isn’t much to go wrong. You could replace those visible bearings cheaply if you really needed to.
