What are we talking about here? The fold over where the sidewall meets the edge of the tire? It looks to be an older tire, but it doesn’t look too bad to me. I would still run it.

This tubeless? If so and not leaking should be fine if it’s more cross country stuff. I wouldn’t huck to flat. But I would use caution. But what do I know I’m just a dude on the internet. Suggestion for the future, always have a spare tire, you never know when you need a new tire

Not the worst I have seen but I wouldn’t ride it super hard. If there is rocky/aggressive trails in your future I would recommend replacing

I’ve run worse 🙂
Actual answer: the tyre will be more vulnerable to slashes and tears and you should replace it at some point, but it’s not going to self-destruct and injure you so no panic

Looks like it’s only cracking around the hot patch of the branding of the tire. Mostly superficial. I would 100% send as long as it’s holding air. And if it wasn’t id just add more sealant and hope it doesn’t leak.

This has happened to two pairs of Maxxis tires of mine with under 50-100mi. If you ride it the crack will propagate through the circumference of the tire and will feel really squirrelly.
It feels like riding on loose sand even on pavement. I’m no tire manufacturing expert but it seems like the contact layer that was applied is separating.
It seems like a manufacturing defect or batches of Maxxis tires have been in the warehouse for a little too long. I’ve switched brands since.
