Hey, I got gifted an old Brompton bike (~10y old) and I'm looking for a manual for it.

Unfortunately I haven't figured out the exact model yet. Does anyone have an idea?

And another question: is it normal, that you can't fixate the rear axis? I'm a bit worried about cycling across bumpy terrain

You rotate the rubber shock absorber thing to lock the rear part.  Unless it’s like pre 2008 or so.  But concur with other commenter it looks like 2015ish to me.

Link here ref the locking:  https://youtu.be/A9yvcke-An4?t=56&si=AQ6umMivx1mMz2EI

Yes. I agree its date seems to be about 2015. However the 10 digit number on the label on the seat tube will tell you. The first four digits indicate year and month… for instance 1504XXXXXX is 2015 April build.

*However, yours seems to be a special model with pre-installed vacuum cleaner… presumably to keep the local cycle tracks pristine and safe for all cyclists…. (maybe?)*

As other Redditors have stated m6l.

However I’m estimating at age at nearly 20 years old or more:

The brake levers seem to be the silver open celevis brake levers of the single pivot side pulled brakes used during mk2 era of brompton bicycle pre 2007 (?). I can’t see the rim brake enough to confirm.

I believe you don’t have a rear pivot lock based on your comment that rear axel does not lock in place. See this video for part in question. https://youtu.be/JmfqJc3aq6Y?si=I7ZZbrZ1UAChiKum
What they are removing is the rear pivot lock clip. If you do not have, your brompton is older than 2007. There’s a retrofit kit to add feature if you want. https://us.brompton.com/p/668/brompton-rear-frame-clip-kit-with-quick-release?Colour=Black if you do have the clip than as other redditors have said; rotate the suspension block (rubber cylinder) around till the notch in cap of suspension block and clip lock together.

Si il n’y a pas de fixation arrière
Le vélo est inférieure à 2008
Pour s’en assurer, les 2 premiers numéros de la plaque sur le cadre font référence à la date 08=2008, 12=2012….
