Who better to hear from than the two commentators who watched every second of the stage from the best seat in the house?
Ned Boulting and Jacopo Guarnieri give us insight from right inside the commentary box, just moments after a thrilling sprint on Stage 1 of the Giro d’Italia.
The guys break down a commendable effort in the break from kilometre 0, a chaotic lead-out from 5 kilometres out, a nasty crash inside the last few hundred metres, and captivating 3-man sprint to the line.
They also look ahead to tomorrow, on what looks to be a gruelling day on the bike for only Stage 2.

Great to see Magnier get one on the board already. David Millar got it spot on yesterday with his prediction that Magnier would 'arrive on the scene and do something well'. Brother Pete must be pretty chuffed at his protege too.
As for that crash I always get nervous when they put barriers with big feet sticking out, like those used today, so close to the finish on a flat stage. They were particularly bad looking barriers, the sort I thought had been phased out after causing so many awful crashes in the past. Not sure if the first rider to go down hit a barrier foot but they certainly didn't help in narrowing an already narrow road by another foot either side. Hope there aren't any withdrawals as a result.
Without the benefit of watching the stage (sorry but the subscription these days is astronomical!), itโs great to get stage reviews on this new vlog. With reference to Jacobo spotting the Soviet-style planes at Burgas Airport, as another very keen on aviation, I have found that following the course in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 with a heli or a โslow nโlowโ Cessna is a great way to get a feel for the stage and terrain- the aerial graphics are so good these days that all is missing is the Giro train ploughing through the countryside, trophy on board. The Bulgarian Black Sea coast looked very attractive.
Great to see you two back at The Giro and thanks to your putting it on YouTube I can now watch you in glorious technicolour on the TV! Loving it โค๏ธ๐ฒ๐ฅ Good luck for tomorrow!

Miss hearing your voice Ned, cycling commentary will never be the same. Really enjoyed this between you and Jacobo, keep it up. ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐ด๐ผโโ๏ธ
