New Canyon Grizl CF6 – SRAM Apex: Is this amount of play in the brake pads/clip normal?

Hi everyone,

I just received my brand new Canyon Grizl CF6 with the SRAM Apex group. Since this is my first bike with disc brakes, I’m still learning what’s "normal" and what isn't.

I noticed that the brake pad clip (and the pads themselves) seems to be a bit loose and has some play. I also hear a slight "click" sound whenever I engage the rear brake.
Is this movement expected with SRAM Apex calipers, or should the clip/pads be more firmly in place?
