I 100% get that this is a wear and tear/consumable item, but the tape that was on my previous Aeroad purchaed late 2018 lasted 6+ years and nearly 30,000 miles logged. My new Aeroad is ~18 months old and looks like shit.
Does anyone know who the OEM supplier was for the old bar tape? I have to assume it was *not* Canyon producing it. Would like to order from whatever brand that was.
Red is old bike before selling, shredded tape is my current bike which I received ~September 2024.

I shudder when imagining the smell when you took of the tape after 6 years and 30k miles….
That being said, the new tape is indeed shit but I believe it’s good practice to switch out the tape a little more frequently than every 6 years
Its canyons own ergo tape. About £18, wraps like a dream and lasts ages. Ive just redone my Ultimate with it.
I change my tape every season…..
Wow. Chips. Popcorn.
Definitely not what they are using today. The tape on my Grizl was the worst I have ever seen. Lasted less than 6 months.
Yes old tape definitely was more durable than the new stuff from my experience
Idem ici, toujours la bande d’origine sur mon Endurace de 2019. Comme au premier jour (sous réserve d’un peu de nettoyage bien sûr)
Am I the only one replacing mines every 6 months?
Can confirm that tape was awesome. Silicone tape on the inner side is pretty rare, so maybe looking for similar feature models could narrow the search.
Indeed, i can confirm as well, i bought my Ultimate in 2019 and the tape lasted until the end of 2025, probably around 45k. After doing some research, the one that resembles most to the Canyon is Zipp Service Course – already 2 years, looks also brand new and has a nice feel (i ride without gloves). Op, if you find other details about the Canyon one, let us know 😉
