In this film, we explore everything from the coastal industrial heritage of the Herd Groyne Lighthouse to the rugged hills of Sycamore Gap. Along the way, we stop at incredible Roman sites like Vindolanda and Segedunum, visit ancient churches in Warden and Burgh-by-Sands, and dive into the local flora—including Cowslip, Garlic Mustard, and the history of the ancient Caledonian forests that once spanned this land.

The Final Stretch: Carlisle Castle, Carlisle Cathedral, Tullie House, King Edward I Monument, and Port Carlisle.

The Finish: Fort Maia Visitor Centre and the beautiful Bowness-on-Solway.

Nature & Botany:We take a closer look at the local environment, identifying Scurvy Grass and Scots Pine while discussing the lost Caledonian forests that once connected the North.
