Checking out bikes on my local marketplace and this caught my eye. Wondering if anyone knows what year model it might be? The owner did not buy it new and didn’t ride it much. Description is as follows,
SRAM Eagle
Fox34
SantaCruz Reserve 27 carbon wheels laced to DT Swiss 240S and Hans Dampf tires.
Industry 9 stem.
WTB saddle
Dropper post and original Ti SP included.
He’s asking $2,000 . Does that seem like a fair price if it’s in good condition ?

Don’t know anything about Lynskey bikes but the wheels, fork, and drivetrain are pretty nice.
Looks like it’s a titanium frame.
I’ll let others weigh in but it seems like a pretty sweet bike to me. Of course I’d try to get that price down a little but titanium frame, reserve carbon wheels, and XO drivetrain are all very nice things to have.
Lynskey is pretty niche, expensive titanium frames. They are hand built in the USA… and just filed chapter 11 bankruptcy last week…. Solid bikes tho.
It would be a pretty bomber bike with decent spec for a hard tail. What wheel size? It could be the Pro 29 or 650, based on the twist in the downtube…. This would help establish its age as their colorways tend to overlap a bit and the picture is a bit blurry.
If it’s a 27.5 I’d pass just cause a 27.5 hard tail isn’t my speed, but if it’s a 29er… people that have them love them…. It probably retailed for $5500ish so as long as it’s been serviced and not the old geometry it’s probably a good buy.
You can get a Lynskey frame for $1k, so I would haggle down to like $1500 or it’s probably not worth it. Cite the lack of warranty and their new bankruptcy filing.
I am building up a Lynskey Ridgeline as we speak, making it a lightweight rigid gravel/ATB rig. The frame quality seems quite good, nice welds etc.
FWIW, I have a the same frame with a similar build (minus carbon wheels, XTR instead of Eagle), and I was trying to sell it for $2750. After getting no bites, I decided to keep it.
Bike is sick. Titanium is a perfect material for a hardtail and Lynskey is a good brand, you’ll be riding it the rest of your life. The guy also has expensive taste in components.
My dad just stole a 15 year old Lynskey hardtail from his brother and converted it to dropbar. It still rides great.
$2k is a steal, I’d jump on it.

I looked at one a while back, but their frames weren’t very light weight so I went with carbon.
meh…. medocre frames
many better choices
if you dinning titanium do custom frames not this crap
