I got my bike stolen from front of the mall back when I was an excange student in the UK. It was locked with camera pointing at the bikerack. They cut off the lock and went away, it was on video. After I went to the police they told me that they know the guy, he stole many bikes, erollers, scooters from the area but could not catch him yet.
After 2 months they catched the guy, but my bike hadn’t been found so I carried with my life on.
Until, one month later I saw it in front of the UNI! I checked and it was truly mine! Called the police they said they will come and see what they can do with the situation. I waited 5 hours in front of the bike in the cold december, and one point I grabbed the front wheel and carried inside where it was at least warm (I could have been clever sooner…).
Fortunatelly the UNI’s security guy was on my side and helped, so the new “owner” could not ride home with the bike.
The best part was that I still had the serial number from the marketplace messages so I could proove to the police that it was legit my bike.
So in the end I got back it and was sooo happy since it was a proper good one!

Then you get arrested for stealing a bike.
