Winkworth Arboretum in the Surrey Hills is renown for its autumn colours and spring blossoms. However, until we found this route it seemed that the only way there from Bisley was through traffic. This route dispels that, mostly off-road cycle path & quiet back roads. 55km return and very little gradient, we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. There’s now a new visitor centre for coffee & cake (Opening early 2026). You’ll be best on a hybrid or gravel bike to cope with some of the mud in the Downs Link.

Welcome to THE TANDEM CHANNEL (aka T4 – TakesTwoToTandem); we are a couple of pensioners based in the South East of the UK that love to travel and take day-trips on our tandem. The channel is a means of sharing those routes and experiences with others – you don’t need to ride a tandem to do the rides….. but it is much more fun if you do
