I had an incident the other night involving a pothole, a broken spoke which caught in my chain, snapped my derailleur hanger and gave me a 10km push home in the rain at 3am. On first inspection I thought it was a matter of fixing the wheel and hanger but now I noticed this. First pic is fram damage second is the comparison on the other side. My wheel doesn't seem to have an issue staying on though. It's being pushed to the bike shop in the morning mainly coz I can't get the broken hanger off, should I prepare for a new bike?

  1. Oof. Looks like you need a new rear triangle. Is it a full sus? If you broke the frame dropout there your frame is toast.

yeah no i’d say it’s not even grabbing half of the skewer it’s done brotha man

  3. Looks to me like your mech hanger is what the wheel secures to, in in which case slap a new one on and off you go.

A new hanger should sort that. I can’t tell from the pics but would be surprised if you have snapped off a bit of the frame

    You are safe buddy.
    It’s a 10 dollar part.

We call those “fuses” around here… It’s tricky sometimes to get the right one, so usually you can get a “close enough” and work it with a file till it works.

https://wheelsmfg.com/pages/manufacturers Look up your Make & Model and maybe even year. Order & shipped to you. Hopefully they offer free shipping but if not it’ll be high but at least you get the exact part you needed. Even when I order parts at wholesale shipping is getting too much for small orders.
