I got this 2022 Kink Whip XL & 2023 Dark Wave frame I’m a trade, & really was only wanting the Dark Wave frame, as “I guess” I’m gonna start collecting Sunday models, but decided to take it for a lil test ride, & even though it’s stock, minus the Tree Seat & seat post I added, it rides as nice as some custom builds that cost 2-4 times more!
For $499.99 getting a full chromoly bike, double wall rims, sealed bearings, & a few aftermarket components thrown in is a pretty incredible deal, & it’s a nice enough bike for a beginner, too intermediate rider that wants a bike they can upgrade & not feel like they’re wasting money.
The ONLY complaints I have is the weight, is 27lbs, & I’m used to pretty light custom builds, & the brake hardware isn’t removable, which I think should be available on ANY bike that’s chromoly, but the weight can be shaved with better components, & I’m just grasping at straws complaining about the brake hardware, because I run rear brakes, so doesn’t matter to me, but I know to a lot of riders, it does.
I’m really happy I branched out of my “comfort zone” & got a brand I wouldn’t have given a chance to before, can’t wait to load it up with Cinema components, & maybe even look at building up a Williams Signature if their mid grade bike rides this nice!
