So I received my First Gravel bike the Grizl 5 on Wednesday in 2 XL and it fits me Perfectly, I already designed and Printed bottle and phone mounts for it.

I did two Tours with a friend each 40 km with no Problems at all, but I was wondering about that weird disk in the back what is it for? As I have never seen it before.

And Two should I tilt my Bars/Seat more forward/backward. My Sitbones? hurt a bit after both Tours and I was wondering if my Saddle tilt is the Problem or if they just have to get used to it.

It appears you are looking for bike fitting help. Please make sure you post as screenshot of the Canyon size chart for your bike, with your point in it. See [this example](https://imgur.com/a/ALUfXyy)

Two 40 km rides on that saddle only hurting “a bit”? You’re the one who should be giving bike fit advice.

  3. That’s the “dork disc” (spoke protector) and you can take it off if you’re not worried about chain drops.

  4. Congratulations! You’ll love the Grizl! You can keep that plastic disc there if you like, supposed to keep the chain in place if for some reason goes past the biggest cog

As others have said the disc is a safety measure from manufacturers affectionately named by the community the dork disc. If the gears arent set correctly and the chain falls off the cassette, the disc should help prevent a catastrophic failure damaging the wheel. With proper setup it becomes useless garbage, your call and dont let anyone pressure you.

As for the fit issues (or non issue?) I agree again with others, some sitbone issues on a new bike at 40km rides is an amazing report to hear. Personally i wouldnt adjust anything until hands, neck, back, or knees are suffering. If the sitbone issue gets worse or never goes away, maybe address it then

  6. if you like your phone I’d advise against mounting there. I once put a mini tripod on a top tube bag to record some video, went 15km in gravel outside the city, went to take the tripod and it had disassembled from the vibrations. The screws came off. When I put a ziplock bag with sweets there, over a few rides the ziplock bag has holes from the vibrations. Your phone probably have tiny parts in the camera that will break if they have not broken already.

Also it appears that the disk brakes have overheated from the change of color on the photos. If this is from 2 rides I’d try to correct the braking technique for longer rides and descents.
