I think the possibility that's not discussed at all is that Seixas goes to the Tour, loses to Pogi (and potentially Vingo, Lipo, … doesn't even podium) and the French trash him so badly for that it breaks him temporarily if not permanently (he will never be more mentally breakable than he is now, barring any unlikely disasters). I think this may actually be what some people allude to when they're trying to warn him off TdF, but do not want to speak it into existence, so to say.
No Albert Withen Phillipsen mention π‘
I'm happy his making his debut he shouldn't be expected to win.
It's a free hit imo with a podium chance, as long as it's not a disaster which I don't think it will be, I see him being far too strong for guys like Lipowitz/Evenepoel.
Top 5 are Pog, Jonas, Seixas, Lipo, del Toro, in that order. Outside chance Pidcock takes del Toro's spot. Should be an epic race!
This just means Seixas is leaving Decathlon.
I think Pog and Jonas are still ahead over 3 weeks.
Most intruiging should be the battle for 3rd between Seixas and Lipowitz.
Seixas has the much higher ceiling and unconditional team support, Lipowitz has the grit and consistency.
I hope Paul got an appearance fee out of aso
Paul Seixas won't win the Tour de France. But he's gonna put a mark on every racer. Pogacar is still too strong but the pressure slides off him. I'm betting for a second place. My feeling is that he's stronger than Vingegaard
Pogi going to cook these kids.
I remember back in 2013 or 2014 there was some 18 or 19 year old kid who started the tour and it was planned for him to pull out after 10 days. Anyone else remember that?
He's already the strongest french rider since Hinault and HES 19.
Wow. Decathlon nailed that. Superb video. That is the way. I really hope he stays at Decathlon.
It's comforting to have something to depend on in this world. I see the announcement on IG that Seixas is riding the tour. I get home, open YT and there is the emergency pod from LR, as expected. π
I'm super hyped, this Tour de France is going to be absolutely off the charts! π₯
I'm so excited to hear Paul Seixas will be there. Of course, I'm not expecting him to win, but he's going to throw the cat among the pigeons, hopefully. And I'm thinking Jonas Vingegaard is going to be extremely difficult to beat this year, all things considered and going well. I never like to bet against Tadej, he's already shown he's the best athlete on the planet but this is going to be mega cinema! π΄ββοΈπ₯
The extra gym work will be of huge benefit to Tadej and he'll definitely be in Tour de France winning shape but maybe even stronger as a result of this mid season gym
Lipowitz is 3rd. He's good this year. Maybe second.
No surprise for me. Even if he stays at Decathlon there are zero downsides as long as his team does not put any pressure on him to do anything. There are so many things for him to learn by doing.
Y'all are acting like Pogi was on the limit the whole time… What's to say he was only doing what he had to and only dropping him when it mattered…. Head games for the tour!
Seixas 5-10th… Probably fade in last week.
